Port of Aalborg must have a new CEO. Current CEO, Claus Kim Holstein, has informed Port of Aalborg’s Board of Directors that he wishes to resign no later than by the end of March 2023. The Board has taken note of the decision and has immediately initiated the work to find a suitable replacement:

- In an energetic and visionary way, Claus has been at the forefront of the port's development for more than 15 years. He has played an important role in Port of Aalborg's transformation from a traditional port to a modern inland port fixated on both water and hinterland, an extensive logistics setup, and a sharp focus on sustainability and green transition. He has thus skillfully ensured that Port of Aalborg was on the map when important companies should locate their activities, says Chairman of the Board Lasse Frimand Jensen, and continues:

- We are now starting the work of finding the right replacement. We require someone who will work closely with the board and the many talented employees to continue the realization of our ambitious development strategy, which includes investments of up to two billion Danish kroner, a goal of attracting 10-15 large companies and creating 5,000 jobs in Aalborg Municipality by 2030.

Port of Aalborg has grown significantly with Claus Holstein at the helm. Revenue has increased from 86 million Danish kroner in 2006 to 239 million Danish kroner in the last financial year. The port’s earnings have more than tripled in the same period.

Recruitment of the new CEO is handled by Torben Abildgaard from Curia Management.
